March Goals – New Habits Over Old
Dear March,
Can we slow down a bit?
March is already here and time to talk about goals and accountability…
So… How was your February? Did one more day do you any good?
Me..? Yes. In fact I am so glad there was another day because I had signed up to kick start the Craft Month with a post for Crafts around the World Series and I needed that time badly. Thanks to having the 29th of February, I was able to post it on time! Phew!!
Do you have it in you: Screen Free entertainment for kids?
This past month, I mustered the courage to disconnect our TV for good. We just don’t need any more screen time for our kids. It is disturbing them and it doesn’t matter how less of it we have, they are still getting addicted to it. We decided we will just switch it off. No TV at all. I was afraid of how they’ll react to suddenly not having their screen time but was pleasantly surprised that we all handled it alright. My two year old was angry the first two days that mummy didn’t let her listen to rhymes (her favorite way to learn them) but I substituted the time with extra reading time and it was a winner. Of course, no TV means I am struggling to get lunch served on time these days but I think with a little effort and planning we can be calmly back in routine. That… Or I will be in a bigger trouble. I hope to work on this in March.
Can you love T-shirt Yarn?
I’ve been working on a Tshirt yarn project this past month. One granny square down and second on the hook. It is a ‘Let’s-see-what-I-end-up-with’ kind of a project. My sister had wanted to make a hand knitted blanket for my son but it turned out terrible. She undid it and gave it all to me. Now, I am now playing with it. Don’t buy Tshirt yarn if you aren’t 110% sure what you’ll do with it!!
Mommy is a baby-holic!
This month, I managed to move my kids to their room. Then… I got depressed. So the tots are back in my bed. I need to deal with myself before I discipline my kids! I confess: I love snuggling next to my youngest and having the preschooler sleep on my legs all night. Yes, I need some serious counseling!
Mt. Foreverest!!
I hate folding laundry. Period.
No more Back-logging!
One thing I am seriously happy this month is the fact that I blogged almost every week in February. Yay! We are making progress.
March On…
This month, in March I have a few things I’d like to work on:
- New habits I am working on this month include:
a.This month, I am checking to see how often I log into my office every morning. I spend one hour in my office every morning and afternoon when I have a project. I’ve found that that habit is how I manage to meet my WAHM goals. You can read all about my Two hour a Day Work Schedule here. If only I kept those timings everyday. I mean… just not only when I have a project.
b. I am also ticking my chart for a new kitchen habit. 20 minutes of un-distracted kitchen work. I am using Pomodoro for this. - Collaborating to manage my family better:
a. This month, Z and I have decided we will work on meal and chore plans together. Yes, I am a little surprised and excited that my husband actually proposed this. He is really showing interest in helping me manage our home better.
b. We have decided to have a chore chart every morning that will help everyone chose a task that they can help mommy with. Genius no? I tell you round table conferences work!! - Blog will be getting a face lift. My brother has been after me to make some changes around here… Let us see if these happen sooner of later.
That’s all folks… Read what my friends are going this month below:
I am interested to hear your 2 hour per day routine. I am trying for one at the computer. I’m not sure how it will work, but I know routine makes the difference.
I’ll have to write about this! Thanks for prompting me Christy!

I really enjoyed this post. As a SAHM I find that the ideas come easily. You’ve encouraged me to keep trying to share them. Thanks.
