Quick and Simple Upcycled Denim Purse from Old Jeans
Inside: How to make a simple upcycled Denim purse from old jeans pants. We love recycling old stuff to craft and create around here. This is a kid made product. My 5 and 9 year old helped me make this cute little bag.
I’ll be honest: I hate throwing away jeans and old clothes even if they are torn. There is so many things that you can make out of them.
This post is part of the Earth Day series by Teach Me Mommy on how you can recycle and recreate fun projects using old stuff lying around the house. I find Earth Day another perfect time to promote recycling and reusing stuff to save our environment.

You can recycle jeans into wearables or toteables or even use as decoration items around home. In the past I have made a seat for my office chair, a pillow cover, table mats, an apron and of course, we always pass them over to the next child after a little alteration. It is the same with old clothes. See here how Varya used an old T-shirt to make Dolls clothes.
I love the back pockets on Jeans. They are so perfect for holding items. This DIY denim purse uses pockets and the side seams to make the belt on the bag.
My daughter has suddenly taken a lot of interest in sewing and making needle crafts. Just last week we started simple sewing by making our own bookmark. This purse from old jeans is perfect if you have a child 6years or up. My son started taking interest in sewing from that age too.
Please note: This activity requires adult supervision. Needle and thread involved. 🙂
