Recycled Calendar Bookmarks!
I made a new bookmark a few days ago. It is made from last year’s calendar! Isn’t that a fantastic way to reuse old calendars? You can make any shape you like. Just cut them into long strips or with a lace at the end if you like and you have a super simple but pretty bookmark to place in your own book or gift away! I’ve made a heart. A heart that slips on to your page and doesn’t fall off even if you shake the book.
I love new calendars. I am always waiting for December because usually, that is when the new ones are available. The real reason I am waiting for them is because, I am so curious as to what the newer ones will hold. I love looking at those pictures. As soon as I get them, I first flip it over to see what is on June, my birth month! When we were kids, my father would collect calendars of calligraphy or ships or places…

Heart Bookmarks From Old Calendars
There are many ways to make bookmarks and limited by just imagination. I am going to tell you about some super quick ways to make them today. Nothing fancy just a way to cut them so that they can clip on. The best part is that these are recycled calendars!
What you need to make Clip On Bookmarks:
Old calendar with either abstract design or photography
Scissors/penknife
Rough piece of paper
pencil
How to make Clip-On Calendars
Start by making a rough sketch of a design that you would like to make on the paper. I chose to make a heart. Cut the heart shape and make a ‘V’ cut at the bottom as shown in the picture.
Trace the shape on the wrong side of the calendar photo. Cut it out using either a sharp penknife or a scissors.
Make the ‘V’ slit at the bottom of your bookmark. This is the hard part. You cannot fold it in half. The photo quality paper leaves a mark if folded and if your penknife isn’t sharp, it will show the edges. I had a very hard time with ours!
It is ready. Clip it on to your book. Have fun!
Here is a pinnable image for you! Just hover on the picture till you see the ‘pin’ button.
