Years ago, when I first started teaching my 2.5 year old to learn his ABC, I had no idea where to begin. He could recite his ABCs and sing the song all day… he would even recognize random words but he couldn’t write the letters. I wanted to help him learn to write correctly and recognize the alphabets.

At the time, I was juggling a baby and toddler. You know how it is when you have two children close together – the elder one always demands your attention, while the little one makes sure you are sleep deprived. 🙂
The Intentional Mom in me wanted to plan activities for my toddler from the beginning. It was fun. I loved crafting with him. But I had no time to do it every day. Eventually we learned to plan daily activities but it is very difficult to come up with ideas every day, you know.

I started introducing alphabets to my children from just when they were little babies. We had board books, toddler toys and alphabet prints around the house. The key to growing children who love to read and write is to create an environment of learning.
I homeschooled two of my children before I put them in higher Kindergarten. Even now, though they are public-schooled, I still do a lot of activities with them to help them love what they are learning.
We print out worksheets quite often and have both the laminated as well as plain ones around the house. I also buy books for them to practice on apart from their school books. We do lots of sensory activities because it is so important with the environment that we live in. We also craft and make art.
The activities that I share today are from my favorite Kid bloggers. They have been inspiring us to craft and create for years.
