All for a dress..
I should really tell you all about my adventures with crochet, tatting and my hunt for that ultimate thread shop (that recides only in my imagination)! I really stummbled upon a pattern for a crocheted top/dress/whatever you may wanna call it, that I simply had had had to make. I started it out with an Altin Basak Thread that I had. (I am in love with all Altin Basak Threads at the moment, for those who care to know…) But, I had only one ball of it and when I went back to get more I found they had run out of it too. He asked me to come back two days later but… two days… two nights would mean two sleepless eager, anxious nights that can very well kill me! So, since I required atleast two dozen or more balls, Hubby Darling proposed we go search for the main suppliers and get it on wholesale. What an idea, eh? Yeah, except that we dont really know who sells turkish thread at whole sale. We went to Hindawiyyah. Dehlawi, who stocks most of the stuff sent us to Alamoudi who in turn sent us to Khayat al something who sent us to another place then to another place who sent us back to Dehlawi! Whoa! we moved around and around the complex but on the way saw a shop who had windows and walls lined with stuff…. chinese but crochet thread for half the rate that too! Since, the chance of wearing what I am making is 50percent …’why not’, I said, and we came home with one dozen. 🙂
Oh and Samantha really does hav the coolest stuff!
This by the way is how far along I have come…4balls used up…
