Day1. Collecting supplies and de-cluttering

Spring Cleaning Made Easy at http://home.yourway.net |
I was so excited to begin that I clubbed two days of work together! Today was supposed to be Gathering Supplies but as I already have my supplies in one place and at hand’s reach, I did a quick check and proceeded to Day 2 which is Doing a quick De-clutter.
I confess, I had no idea how much ‘simple’ clutter I had lying about my tables and furniture. Most of it was papers and clothing but really so much useless stationary too. I have a kid in Kindergaten and over the past two years I have really collected too many crayons and colour pencils. We actually have eights sets of colour pencils and three sets of crayons(of varying thickness and lengths!). People should really stop including stationary in party favours and advertising! (… And I should stop accepting them!) Ofcourse, none of them are a complete set now. Lil’ One is cruising and crawling these days and I am forever going around with my vacuum and mop and even then I have to get on all fours and pull out broken crayons, bits of papers and mineral water caps from under everywhere. Funny thing is she manages to still find something and that too right after I have done the cleaning. Anyway, de-cluttering today gave me a chance to calmly look at all the stuff on the tables and tops that isn’t baby safe too.
I have found that the morning time, right after hubby and son leave is the right time to get into action. Baby has her nap of an hour or so and even when she wakes up, she is playing by herself for me too get my work done while she is in her activity center or somewhere. Also, previously, I was using this time to check my mails and as anyone knows it is the wrong time of the day to do that. I almost always end up having a nap and then getting irritated later. Today was good. I did not need a nap and I had lunch prepared well in advance and I was glowing because I had actually touched every surface of my home.
Looking forward to tomorrow… Definitely!
