‘That bird was my friend…’, he had said.
Did I mention that I am still on my Vacation?
No?
Well, I am. It is always nice to have no chores to run but then again… when you have kids, a vacation is no vacation… it is an entertainment channel! We have made some really fun memories worth capturing this year. Lil’ One, started to (finally!!) walk without support. She had been cruising for the past 4months! And then, she shocked us by sprouting four teeth in a month. Ofcourse, we had a lot of teething side effects too but atleast she has teeth now!
Son, on the other hand has been full of mischief. It is like we brought him here and left him wild. He has discovered that there are stray dogs in the neighbourhood and that they are quite different to the domesticated ones. Now, we have some real trouble trying to keep him from getting too close to one. Already he has run off into the streets and already, he has called out to too many.
There was also that one time when he tried to kidnap an emu. We went out to a shop, leaving him with the driver and came back to discover them both gone. They were by a truck that was transporting three live Emu. Don’t ask me what three emu were doing on the roadside, in full daylight and in very busy traffic too. Anyway, there he was, my five year old, stroking the head of a very dirty bird! No, I didn’t scream and faint… we just as calmly as possible got him (my son) into the car and drove off… only to discover a few minutes later that the trunk wasn’t shut. Son, remarks, ‘That bird was my friend. I was going to let him drive with us. You didn’t let me!‘
Already, we have dropped the house key down the elevator shaft, locked one of siblings in the lift, driven half the cousins mad and lost a lot of privileges to ‘Unmentionable and Intolerable’. Five, is a very difficult age… for mums… but very entertaining too! 🙂
We are coming towards the end of our vacation soon and looking forward to the ‘Back to School’ routine. Looking forward to routines… yes!
Have you started your ‘Back to school’ preparation, yet?
