YAY!!!
I have FINALLY finished the pretty doily tat-along. Finished it on wednesday…I have’nt ironed it or starched it or done anything more than cut the loose ends off. For now it is spread on my poufe and it looks big. But even I admit now that ispite of all the probs I had making it… it is BEAUTIFUL.
I learnt many new techniques while doing this doily. It is the first tatted doily i ever made and it literally taught me tatting.
1. I realised that I was tatting the wrong way when I did this doily.
2. I learnt floating rings.
3. I learnt to adjust the length of chains to curve them.
4. I taught myself josephine knots while doing this doily.
5. Most importantly, I learnt that tatting requires patience and presence of mind.
Yay! it is done… that is the next motif for the 25motif challenge. 16, is it? I lost count!
Congratulations on completing this doily. And learning a few tatting techniques in the process, well done. You have every reason to be excited. Agree with you totally on No. 5.
Congratulations, Ais! You did a nice job. Your first doily looks fabulous! You should see my first doily, it wasn't nearly as nice as this one. This is definately something to be proud of.
I am so glad you learned so many new techniques….that is wonderful!<br>You did a great job!
