Zhongguojie- Chinese Knots
This is what I have been interested in the past week and so. It is Macrame if you like, but I prefer to call it Chinese knotting. I have been in love with it since I stumbled upon it a few years ago. I didnt know what it was called and I didnt know how to do it but I was looking and then a few days ago on pinterest, I came across a board with links. I have been doing my homework and you can see all that I came up with. The yarn is called paracord or any nylon cord can be used. The chinese have special satin yarns for it. I haven’t found them and I am still looking out for them.
It looks difficult but it isn’t. It is something really unique, just fiddling around with your fingers and VOILA! The pink knot is called a Monkey’s Fist knot. it is good as keychain, mobile charm, etc. The yellow and pink one is called the Panchang Knot. It is tricky and I have seen people do it on their hands… I used a cork board and pins. It took me some 20minutes to do it. It is the only one which was ‘hard’. I’ll post the link in the next post. This is all the stuff I have done. I loved the dragon fly. There 3-4 of them lying around. My son loved it too. Then… I removed the knobs of a cabinet and made monkey fists on it… just for fun! 😀 My son was laughing all the time.
The round knot is the Turk’s head. I don’t know why it is called that. It can be pulled in to a ball too. And the weaving is… well just weaving on my fingers… I just taught myself to do that. The dragonfly, the first time I tried it up close.

This happened when I was ready to thow out all my crochet stuff. I had had enough of it. Infact,I HAVE had enough of it. I am not doing it no more…it isn't fun anymore.<br /><br />and… who is supermom?! :p
