  1. I agree with you entirely. When a doctor told me 'Since your family is complete, let's just give you a hysterectomy and see if that sorts out the problem', I told him, 'Listen mister, first you decide on the problem and then if that's the best solution I might agree'. He was rather taken aback.

  2. Yeah… there's a reason why they call it "practicing" medicine!

    Some of the biggest advances in medicine have come when they took out an "useless" organ – and suddenly discovered that, yes, that parathyroid IS important. Vital, even. Oops.

    Maybe one day we'll have it all figured out. Until then, best of luck to us all!

  3. Way to go girl! Jane, you did good saying that. These doctors really don't want to think hard. I really don't know what makes them think cutting and throwing away an organ or two will solve a problem.
