Mikyajy Sabaya Line & Shadow Pencil Review
I had always been curious about the Mikyajy stores as a teenager ever since it was first launched in the UAE. The cute and trendy store set up is certainly attractive and tempting.
You may have heard of this Arab cosmetics brand even if you are not in the middle east because of its increasing popularity. Based in Dubai, Mikyajy has over 220 stores located across the Middle east. Mikyajy products are made in Europe and of good quality.
Young, trendy and friendly as the brand states, it undeniably lives up to that. Mikyajy is an Arabic word meaning ‘my makeup’.
In my previous post, I had mentioned that I am a big fan of Kohl/eye pencils and liners. I was looking for something that can be used for the waterline as well as a liner to line the eyelid. I just had to pick these ‘Line & shadow pencils’ from Mikyajy in the Sabaya line of products.
REVIEW & SWATCHES:
I bought these eyeliner pencils in three colours. It has a small sponge applicator at the other end to create a smoky eye look or any other desired look.
These are the colours that I bought:
Dark Blue #14
Dark Green #24

Here are the swatches: Left to Right: #15, #24, #14
PRICE
I wouldn’t say its easy on the pocket but you can always grab a deal from Mikyajy as they have a lot of offers most of the time. A single liner pencil costs 49SAR but any 3 for 79SAR. Sometimes there are further reductions in prices when one of these Line & Shadow pencils can cost as low as 15SAR. So keep a look out if you want to get the best deal.
My take on Mikyajy Sabaya Line & shadow pencil:
Personally, I use it on the waterline/lower lash line. I wouldn’t recommend using it to line the upper lash line unless you want to smudge it and create a smoky eye. The darker colors look too dark & intense if applied on my upper lash line so I stick to the lighter shades(mauve). I like the fact that they glide on smoothly and don’t irritate the eye. These pencils can be also used for eye shadow but it may crease if you wear it for a long time. If you like to play around with some newer styles, then these pencils can come really handy. However, the color does last well for about 3-4 hrs before it starts to fade away or smudge(referring to upper lash line here) but it stays well for a long time on the waterline.
Would I recommend it? Of course! The blue color #14 is my favourite. Although, I may not have to renew it anytime soon as this is going to last for a long time.
